VEGAN YAKITORI
Equipment
- Skewers
- Grill or grill pan

Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu pressed and cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup mirin
- 1/4 cup sake
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp ginger minced
- 1/4 cup scallions chopped
Instructions
- Soak skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and chopped scallions. Mix well to combine.
- Thread the tofu cubes onto the skewers.
Brush the marinade onto the tofu skewers, making sure to coat all sides.- Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Place the skewers on the grill or grill pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, brushing with additional marinade as needed.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve hot.
