Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 package of wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup of shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup of chopped carrots
  • 1/2 cup of chopped scallions
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of sesame oil
  • 1 tsp of grated ginger
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, chopped carrots, chopped scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the vegetable mixture in the center of the wrapper.
  • Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to make a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal.
  • Fold the two bottom corners of the triangle towards each other and press to seal.
  • Repeat the process until all of the filling is used up.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or deep frying pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the wontons and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve the wontons hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
