VEGAN CHINESE TOFU AND VEGETABLE STIR FRY
Equipment
- Wok or large skillet
- Cutting board
- Mixing bowl
- Wooden spoon or spatula
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu drained and sliced into cubes
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 2 cloves of garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon of ginger minced
- 1 small onion sliced
- 1 red bell pepper sliced
- 1 cup of snow peas trimmed
- 1 cup of broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1/4 cup of water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice to serve
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, and water. Mix until well combined and set aside.
- Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.
- Add onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until soft.
- Add red bell pepper, snow peas, and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Add the cubed tofu and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the tofu and vegetables and stir to coat everything evenly.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with cooked rice.
