VEGAN CHINESE BBQ TOFU

Ingredients
  

  • 1 block of firm tofu drained and pressed
  • 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Chinese five spice powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions sliced, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Cut the tofu into 1/2-inch cubes.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, grated ginger, minced garlic, Chinese five spice powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the cubed tofu to the bowl and toss until the tofu is coated with the marinade.
  • Transfer the tofu to the lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the tofu is browned and crispy.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and serve.
