VEGAN NIGERIAN POUNDED YAM
Ingredients
- 2 cups yam flour
- 4 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add the yam flour and salt. Gradually add water while stirring continuously to form a smooth paste.
- Pour the mixture into a large pot and place it on the stove over medium heat.
- Stir the mixture continuously with a wooden spoon or spatula to prevent lumps from forming.
- Cook the mixture for about 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously until it thickens and becomes a stretchy dough-like consistency.
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes to cook the yam flour thoroughly.
- Remove the pot from the heat and transfer the pounded yam to a serving dish.
- Serve the Nigerian Pounded Yam hot with your favorite Nigerian soup or stew.
