VEGAN CHINESE FRIED WONTONS
Equipment
- Wok or deep
frying pan - Paper towels
- Slotted
spoon
Ingredients
- 1 package of wonton wrappers
- 1 cup of shredded cabbage
- 1/2 cup of chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup of chopped scallions
- 1
tbsp of soy sauce - 1 tbsp of sesame oil
- 1 tsp of grated ginger
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp of black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, chopped carrots, chopped scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the vegetable mixture in the center of the wrapper.
- Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to make a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal.
- Fold the two bottom corners of the triangle towards each other and press to seal.
- Repeat the process until all of the filling is used up.
- Heat the oil in a wok or deep frying pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the wontons and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve the wontons hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
